Rei Compact are a Dunedin duo comprised of ro.rg and ol.d. Employing a range of instruments including saxophones, keyboards, violin, voice, guitar, and synthesizer among other sounds, they conjure a moving mass of sonic textures. At times these disparate sonic fragments ring true, piercing, at others they are manipulated beyond recognition. This release is their first, and was composed and recorded in the north end of New Zealand's Southern-most city over a long stretch of 2017.

As for meaning, the group are reticent, revealing only that one of the songs is about a world-weary seagull (Sid).

Separately, ro.rg & ol.d are involved in a number of projects such as Jon II, Sewage, Caned and Able, and Crawling Jelly.
