William Henry Meung is a Dunedin-based composer, improviser and visual artist whose aim is to destabilise notions of what works. Like his work generally, ‘Web Spirit/Lover’ and ‘Am I the Siren You Have Been Waiting For?’ employ redundant, recycled electronic equipment, discarded, revived and repurposed to make loops, drones and textured noise. Piano, circuit-bent children's toys, homemade oscillators and tape loops are spread across a stereo field, with additional arrangement and mastering completed by Meung during a brief period of homelessness in 2015. As with it the objects used in its creation, this is music which has been rescued from oblivion. William wishes to thank those responsible as well as the lovers and friends of the true circle who sustain him.
